Grafton College is a Higher Education institution working since 2004 and operating from Oxford Street London. We are approved by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, Quality Assurance Agency and Higher Education Funding Council in England to provide funded courses to local students. The Grafton College Advisory Board comprises of senior professionals from the industry, Senior Professors, Armed Forces and Police Senior Personnel, Student Union Members from London based Universities and Entrepreneurs. Grafton College is also a partner of Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund and holds prestigious corporate associations with Air Power Association, IBM, Ministry of Defence and 344 Squadron of ATC, RAF.
It has received a Bronze Award from the Ministry of Defence. Grafton College has its main campus based in Oxford Street London. The Main Campus on Oxford Street is a 6 storey Building with a covered area of 23000 sq. ft. Grafton College is aspiring to establish a UK University Partnership by 2017 and had result oriented discussions with few universities. Education, Learning, Respect, Integrity, Employability and Creativity are not just platitudes in Grafton College, they are constants. The College has very recently been approved by National Counter Terrorism and Security Office, Mayor of London’s Office and Metropolitan Police as industry lead provider for Project Griffin. We are also preparing a National Level qualification for Prevent Duty in association with Royal Air Force and Metropolitan Police. The College has grown to its great size with incredible speed because of its insatiable appetite to be the very best.

For us, assuring the quality of our education is to ensure a fit for purpose learning environment that puts the student at the centre of everything we do. Continuous review and evaluation of our curriculum and work consolidate the way we build our expertise and improve our performance, always keeping the needs of our students in mind. The role of the College’s quality and curriculum principal is to oversee the development of our approach and practices in teaching and learning, and to achieve mutually set targets through team effort.
Experienced and qualified teaching staff
Our staff is experienced and qualified, and includes lecturers holding MBA's, PhD's and other relevant qualifications in their fields from British Universities and other internationally recognised institutions. Bringing their experience to classes, lecturers and teachers implement a practical approach to theoretical bases. As a result, our students undergo a learning process which from the outset prepares them for the challenges that they may face in the world of work.
Meeting the needs of students and industry
Any Higher Education Institution plays an important part in achieving an eventual goal for its students: good career prospects. It is evident that employers are looking for a workforce which does not simply rely on academic mastery, but also possesses the required practical skills. The courses offered by the college are meant to address the exact needs of employers. All courses are 'real life based', i.e. students apply the knowledge they gain to real life situations. Our Higher National Diploma students, for example, are asked to produce practice-based assignments to meet the requirements of their courses. Having this kind of experience, our graduates are well equipped to obtain work placements and commence successful careers.
Student Enrichment Activities
To enhance our students’ learning experiences we run a variety of relevant enrichment activities throughout the year. They allow students to develop new skills, to broaden their horizons and to socialise. The activities are embedded across the curriculum and all departments of the College and range from field trips, excursions and an annual sports day to crime prevention events and cinema evenings.

It is quite an interesting experience to study at Grafton. The college prepares you for a successful corporate life. The staff is excellent given the fact that they are already practicing in the industry. Therefore, we get the right exposure and expediency to survive the real professional life. Grafton has links with local employers and therefore make choices easy. With the help of their high-quality vocational course, I intend to develop the right skills and grow employable.
When I joined, I was unable to communicate well. I had a heavily accented speech and hence I joined the English conversation course. I am glad that this course boosts my self-confidence and I can easily converse with my peers and tutors. The classroom environment constantly stimulates and inspires me to learn, speak without apprehension, and build a more confident personality. Now I have the assurance, that with the progress in the course, I would be able to have more control over my speech.
There is a lot of freedom on the campus. The library has all the resources required for my course and it has an e-Library too which helps with my online research. It is actually amazing to have all facilities in one place. I use the books available for reference work, and then the tutors are always there to guide in the right direction. Coming from the corporate sector, they offer a lot of advice that are useful and will assist me to step into the corporate life.

The IELTS Academic Exam Prep Course was exhaustive and highly informative. The major plus was its marking system along with prompt feedback. I am an undergraduate student, and the course was particularly helpful in offering a deeper insight into the language and putting them into context. This enabled better understanding and allowed me to prepare well for the IELTS. I am looking forward to a brighter future in academics and a stable career after completion.

‘Business’ is perhaps the most captivating sector and I would prefer being a part of it. I study a lot about each aspect of business with the help of pragmatic learning. Our tutors engage us through real life experiences and stories. The college environment is suitable for holistic development and prepares one for a better tomorrow. I want to have a bright career in business as soon as I leave college, and I feel that I am getting ready for it.
The tutors are extremely approachable, knowledgeable, and highly experienced. I am an introvert and I was glad that their open approach helped me open up faster and pick up the speed. It is always easy for students to work with tutors who are down-to-earth, amicable, and helpful. The assessments came in right from the start, and they pushed us out of our comfort zone. This is where we actually started using our own brains and began enjoying the course. Under their guidance, I turned out confident, and produced good quality work than I ever did in the past.
I look forward to a career in academics and teaching. By becoming familiar with all aspects of the profession through the Diploma course in Education and Training, I believe I am getting ready for the career already. I am able to modify my schedule as there are no exams for the course. The assessments are assignment based, and they make it more hands-on an experience for us. I enjoyed Unit 4 that involved wider professional practice, and I think learning in an academically and professionally inducive environment prepares any learner for the real world jobs.
Attending the Level 5 HND Diploma in Business was a very good experience. The assignment-based units offered a new approach. Instead of adding complexity to the subject, this fresh pattern triggered interest and generated vast knowledge in the business sector. Without much intervention from the faculty or peers, I naturally started using my own thoughts, absorbing and analysing real time theories into the subjects. The highly supportive tutors and staff made life in Grafton College easy and added more value to the entire course.
My study experience was quite uncommon. I had never seen such interactive platform for education in my country. The Moodle, name for the virtual learning environment, has provision for assignment submission, course grading, instant messaging, and discussion forums too. This platform helped me manage my study schedule. It spared us the struggle of running around, looking for answers. The college also has wireless hotspot zones, and it was a fantastic experience to enjoy the benefits of high-speed internet, anytime, and for free.
